Walther PPK

The current Walther PPK still retains the classic lines of the 75+ year old design.

PPK

Walther PPK manufactured under license by Smith & Wesson.

The Walther PPK or Polizie Pistol Kurz (Police Pistol Short) was a shortened version of the Walther PP, designed for concealed carry in the 1930s.  The PP and PPK were the first successful double action semi-automatic pistols.  With a fixed barrel design the PPK is extremely accurate for its size.  The compact size, accuracy, and double action made it an unbeatable combination in the 1930s and it remains popular to this day.

The Smith & Wesson version of the PPK is a licensed version of the original German design with minor changes like an enlarged beavertail to reduce the chance of the slide hitting ones hand on recoil.  It is made in the U.S. because pistols of its diminutive size are not allowed to be imported.
