The SIG P320C-9-FDE is a Compact, 9mm Luger,  Flat Dark Earth version of the SIG P320.

The Sig Sauer P320 System is a modern modular weapon handgun system that has just been adopted by the U.S. Army as the M17 to replace its Beretta M9s.  The gun is a striker fired version of the modular P250 system.  The P250 was originally released in 2007 and the P320 in 2014.  The P320 is the first striker fired Sig Sauer.  The core of the gun is a trigger group containing the striker based double action firing system.  This group is also the serialized part.  This part can be combined with different grop modules, slides, barrels, and magazines to achieve over 100 configurations.  Sig currently offers 62 different commercial versions of the SIG P320.  There are currently 4 differnt calibers available (9mm Luger, .357 SIG, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP) The grip modules are polymer, while the slides are steel.  The options for the gun include the following, by Grip Module size:

Full Size Grip Module

  • Grip Modules: All have Picatinny Rails.  They are available in Small, Medium, or Large grip sizes.  Each grip size is also available in FDE (Flat Dark Earth), Army Green, and Black.  This results in 9 different grip modules.
  • Slides:  These are 6.6” in length.  The are available in Black or FDE with SIGLITE (tritium) sights, Black with white dot sights, and Black or FDE with a pistol red dot sight and SIGLITE sights.  This results in 5 different slides.
  • Barrels and Calibers:  These are 4.7 in length.  They are available unthreaded in 9mm Luger, 357 SIG, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP or threaded in 9mm Luger, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP.   This results in 7 different barrels.
  • Magazines:  Available in 21, 17 and 10 rounds for 9mm Luger; 14 and 10 rounds for .357 SIG and .40 S&W (.357 SIG and .40 S&W use the same magazines); and 10 rounds for .45 ACP.  This results in 6 different magazines.

Carry Grip Module

  • Grip Modules: All have Picatinny Rails.  They are available in Small, Medium, or Large grip sizes.  Each grip size is also available in FDE (Flat Dark Earth), Army Green, and Black.  This results in 9 different grip modules.
  • Slides:  These are 5.8” in length.  The are available in Black with SIGLITE (tritium) sights, and Black with white dot sights.  This results in 2 different slides.  It is assumed that the compact size slides also fit.
  • Barrels and Calibers:  These are 3.9 in length.  They are available unthreaded in 9mm Luger, 357 SIG, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP or threaded in 9mm Luger, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP.   This results in 7 different barrels.
  • Magazines:  Available in 17 and 10 rounds for 9mm Luger; 14 and 10 rounds for .357 SIG and .40 S&W (.357 SIG and .40 S&W use the same magazines); and 10 rounds for .45 ACP.  This results in 5 different magazines.  The 21 round 9mm magazines will also the grip module.

Compact Grip Module

  • Grip Modules: All have Picatinny Rails.  They are available in Small, Medium, or Large grip sizes.  Each grip size is also available in FDE (Flat Dark Earth), Army Green, and Black.  This results in 9 different grip modules.
  • Slides:  These are 5.8” in length.  The are available in Black or FDE with SIGLITE (tritium) sights, Black with white dot sights, and Black or FDE with a pistol red dot sight and SIGLITE sights.  This results in 5 different slides.
  • Barrels and Calibers:  These are 3.9 in length.  They are available unthreaded in 9mm Luger, 357 SIG, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP or threaded in 9mm Luger, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP.   This results in 7 different barrels.
  • Magazines:  Available in 15 and 10 rounds for 9mm Luger; 13 and 10 rounds for .357 SIG and .40 S&W (.357 SIG and .40 S&W use the same magazines); and 9 rounds for .45 ACP.  This results in 5 different magazines.

Sub-Compact Grip Module

  • Grip Modules: These do not have Picatinny Rails.  They are available in Small, Medium, or Large grip sizes.  Each grip size is also available in FDE (Flat Dark Earth), Army Green, and Black.  This results in 9 different grip modules.
  • Slides:  These are 5.5” in length.  The are available in Black with SIGLITE (tritium) sights and Black with white dot sights.  This results in 2 different slides.
  • Barrels and Calibers:  These are 3.6 in length.  They are available threaded or unthreaded in 9mm Luger and .40 S&W.   This results in 4 different barrels.
  • Magazines:  Available in 12 rounds for 9mm Luger; 14 and 10 rounds for .40 S&W.  This results in 2 different magazines.

The U.S. Army will be purchasing both Full Size and Compact version in 9mm Luger.  The U.S. Army version also may have an additional external safety that would make their trigger modules and grip modules different than the current commercial versions.  The Army plans to purchase at least 280,000 of these pistols and other branches of the U.S. Military may purchase up to 220,000.

U.S. Army Full-Size Grip Module Version

  • Grip Modules: Available in Small, Medium, or Large grip sizes in FDE.  This results in 3 different grips.  
  • Slides:  These are 6.6” in length and have rails.  These apparently will be the SIGLITE slides used for the pistol red dot sights and will have removable section to allow mounting of such as sight.  This results in 1 slide type.
  • Barrels and Calibers:  These are 4.7 in length.  They are available threaded or unthreaded in 9mm Luger.  This results in 2 different barrels.
  • Magazines:  Available in 21 and 17 rounds  This results in 2 different magazines.

U.S. Army Compact Grip Module Version

  • Grip Modules: Available in Small, Medium, or Large grip sizes in FDE.  This results in 3 different grips.  
  • Slides:  These are 5.8” in length and have rails.  These apparently will be the SIGLITE slides used for the pistol red dot sights and will have removable section to allow mounting of such as sight.  This results in 1 slide type.
  • Barrels and Calibers:  These are 3.9 in length.  They are available threaded or unthreaded in 9mm Luger.  This results in 2 different barrels.
  • Magazines:  Available in 15 rounds  for 9mm Luger.  This results in a single magazine type.  The larger magazines will also function in this gun.

The specifications below are for the P320 Compact in Flat Dark Earth with the other versions in parentheses:

Caliber - 9x19mm (Also available in .357 SIG, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP)

Barrel - 3.90”  (Also available in 4.7” and 3.6”)

Slide - Steel - Compact/Carry size.  (Also available in Full-Size and Sub Compact)

Receiver - Compact Size Polymer.  (Also available in Full-Size, Carry, and Sub Compact)  Some receiver elements are in serialed trigger assembly.

Action - Double Action Only, Short Recoil.

Grips - Polymer Medium Size.  (Available in Small and Large, in addition to Medium for each receiver size)

Sights - SIGLITE Tritium 3 Dot. (Also available with 3 Dot White or SIGLITE & Pistol Mounted Reflex Red Dot)

Magazines - 15 rd detachable box. (Multiple additional sizes discussed above)
