1851 Colt Navy Replica by Cimarron Arms

The 1851 Navy, due to its superb balance,  was the choice gun for gunfighters of the 1850s and 1860s.

Colt 1851 Navy Replica by Cimarron Arms.

The 1851 Navy was named for the naval scene that was roll engraved on the cylinder.  With 6 rounds of 36” Ball, it had good firepower for the day.  What really set the Navy apart though, was its superb balance.  This balance meant it could be shot both quickly and accurately and made it the choice of many of the top gunfighters of the 1850s and 60s, including Wild Bill Hickok.  Some 215,000 of these were produced and they were used by both sides in the Civil War and many knock-offs were also made in the South which could not get new Colts once the Civil War began.  The replica above is made by Cimarron Arms.  They purchase unfinished gun parts from Uberti and Pietta, the top two replica manufacturers and assemble and finish them in Fredericksburg, TX.  This results in a higher quality replica and the ability to get finishes not available from Uberti or Pietta.
